Liverpool Epilepsy Self-Help Group
We are a local self-help group and a member of Merseyside
Regional Epilepsy Association.
We get together on a monthly basis at SMLLCA. Our aim is to provide
help and support for all families and friends, and to help spread
the word that Epilepsy is not "catching" and that you can
lead a perfectly normal life with it.
At Lark Lane we have a small library of books on
all aspects of Epilepsy. These books can be loaned out to members
of the group.
Our secretary and Chairperson have given talks to
other organisations, e.g. St John's Ambulance, Nurses in Training,
and Nursing Homes in an effort to get more people to understand
our condition.
At our
meeting we have various guest speakers to inform us also how best
we can help ourselves and understand Epilepsy and its treatment.
