Advice
Lark Lane Advice, Welfare Rights and Counselling Centre was founded
in 1993 by members of SMLLCA in reaction to the unsatisfied demands
of the local poor, needy and disabled.
The agency is split into two sections. The agency is run by volunteers
and funded by charitable donations, of which all money goes towards
running costs.
The advice section is currently run by three fully trained volunteers
and provides help and advice on:
- Welfare Benefits
and Credits Debt Advice
- General
advice on Housing, Neighbour Disputes, etc.
Benefits for the Sick and Disabled
- Last year
the advice section saw approximately 3,000 clients.
The counselling
section is temporarily closed as there are no trained volunteers
but we hope to change this situation in the near future.
