Live Acoustic Music - Accompanied by abstract art exhibition

Compered by/ MC / ROGER PHILLIPS

Event Venue:

Main Hall, The Old Police Station, 80 Lark Lane, Liverpool, L17 8UU

Join us for an evening of great live music and art, and an opportunity to raise money to support local communities like SMLLCA and save lives in East Africa by providing water, food and sanitation facilities.

This event is special in its vibration as it brings together individuals supporting ethical and moral issues; it vibrates with a special music, ranging from soothing Celtic harp sound played by Stan Ambrose to experimental and improvised acoustic music from Graculus duet; enchanting baritone and soprano voices such as Tayo Aluko and Oritsema Ejuoneatse , Celtic folk inspired songs and “flamenco tinged finger picking guitar” from poet and singer songwriter, Ade Jackson ; Eastern folk inspired and flavoured modern rhythms from Skirmish duet; flowing and peaceful sounds from Paul Mc Dowell , “bashing bristling blues and folk riffs together with raw” and “gentle but powerful voices from singer songwriters” such as the unique and talented Jo Bywater ; gentle story-telling performance from the wonderful and spiritual Bisakha Sarker and the always missed piano sound played here by Martin Robinson.

The acoustic evening is accompanied by also, a special art exhibition part of the abstract cycle entitled “Capturing Threads of Light”. For the artist, Nicole Bartos , this recent cycle has become a new experience in the way of working and welcoming the ‘Light', through art; it has a spiritual dimension that has inspired exhibitions and site specific installations and audiences. Fascinated by art, Nicole mingles metaphysical and spiritual philosophy with meditation and pure art; by discovering an extra-sensory world, her canvases embrace an ‘invisible' side; she aims to paint the uncontrolled and immaterial, the ethereal and builds in pure chromatics, flowing energy and a concept of fusion with the ‘light'.

About EAST AFRICA CRISIS

"Famine, drought and conflict have left millions of people needing food, water and healthcare. The UN says that in the last few months, tens of thousands of Somalis have died of causes related to malnutrition. Most of them were children. Very poor rainfall in the region (which includes Somalia, Kenya, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Uganda) has led to the driest period in 60 years for some areas, leading to crop failures and deaths of livestock. .

Help us provide life-saving food, water and emergency healthcare to families in desperate need."
